Before beginning production of your discs, we have a legal requirement to ensure that you have the correct licence and/or authorisation for any copyrighted music, logos or information you may wish to use.

1. Music

Writer/Publishers Rights - Mechanical Copyright Protection Society (MCPS)
Before we can duplicate or replicate discs containing music, we must either have an MCPS licence in our possession for your production or a confirmation from MCPS that you have applied for a licence. Even if your disc contains an entirely original piece of work, you should still contact MCPS to fill out an AP2 form to obtain a “Notification of No Claim”, this will also register your work as your own in case it is used without your approval in the future.

More information is available on-line or by calling: 020 7580 5544

Performers Rights - Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL)

If your production contains music, we must have agreement from the performer that they consent to their work being included, this is equally true for DVD productions.  In most circumstances we will require a licence to be provided from the PPL who collect royalties on behalf of artists in the music industry.  This is required in all cases, whether the music is overlayed on top of an image sequence or included in the background over a tannoy (e.g. at a wedding).

To find out more information, including whether you require a licence, search the PPL website or call: 020 7534 1000

2. Logos
Before we can print copyrighted logos (e.g. Sports teams badges, Company designs etc) we will need confirmation from the organisation to whom the copyright belongs that they are happy for you to use their logo on the artwork. This confirmation should be in the form of a letter on headed paper, signed by a representative of the company or organisation who can be contacted if needs be.

3. Software
If you have used any copyrighted software on your production (e.g. QuickTime for Windows or Acrobat Reader), we will require a licence showing that you have the authority to include it. This is usually free and able to be simply obtained using an on-line form. A screen shot of the final screen or a forward of the email you will receive will suffice for this purpose.

Thank you for following these guidelines which not only help us protect ourselves, but also you!! Please take into account the time needed to obtain these permissions to ensure that they do not hold up any order.
