Shaped Discs & AB-CD Replication will give the ability to print any shape on the disc without the problems of imbalance in the drive.

Shaped AB-CD Replicated Discs are also available in special colours as well as clear and the way they are printed will give a distinct impression of a shaped CD.

For AB-CD Replication the overall size of the Replicated CD is still 12cm but the reflective or printed layer covers only 8cm or 9cm. The remaining space outside your "shaped" on-body print will be clear (or a special colour polycarbonate if you prefer) allowing you to print any shape you wish.

This procedure will give the distinct impression of a shaped CD without any of the balance problems created when certain shapes are attempted by cutting the disc. By using this method you will have the capability to use them with front-loading drives too, since they will not get jammed!

As no weight or balance restrictions exist with a Replicated AB-CD, any shape is therefore possible, opening up a new world of creativity at an exceptionally low price. In the past, manufactures used to laser cut the discs to a particular template but many of the shapes created a terrible imbalance in the drive and apart from the awful noise created, sometimes they didn’t even run.

The capacity on these discs is the same as an 8cm Replicated disc which is 180MB, many companies also use these instead of CD Business cards due to the extra data and the balance issues.

For maximum effect the AB-CD can also be combined with other special features like the Sniffle Disc or Watermark effects, and can be supplied in any packaging you choose from Dischromatics.
